The God of the Bible warns against boasting in oneself and requires humility absolutely. 

"Wherefore he that thinketh himself to stand, let him take heed lest he fall!" (1 Corinthians x, 12). 

Protestants, the Old New Pagans, have, with a lot of vicissitudes taught, what I call "Sigillantism," that "those who are (pretendedly) 'Born Again,' according to Protestant theologies, are 'Sealed in Salvation' (Sigellants, from Sigillum, Latin for Seal) from that moment, and cannot be lost." This heresy is a Novelty that has long been dragged out by Heretics. It also inexorably leads to Antinomianism. 

Sigellantism is the Heart of the Deformation, of the Prides called Lutheranism, Calvinism, etc. The Biblical and Catholic Doctrine that no human creature can be complacent about his Eternal Salvation, can be Assured of Eternal Salvation until he has been found to have died in the Vivifying Grace of God, was mocked and scorned. It is a fact that the Deformation is founded exclusively and entirely upon the Heresy of Sigellantism and upon the Catholic Church's refusal to break with the Bible by subscribing to Sigellantism, the rest is all lies, deception and window-dressing. 

If the Catholic Church had accepted Sigellantism, Luther, Calvin, etc., would never have left, never had seceded. However, if the Catholic Church had accepted Sigellantism, it would thereby have ceased to be the Catholic Church, it would have thereby fallen away from the God of the Bible. 

Sigellantism is expressed by the Pretension: "#AreYouSaved?" Sigellantism also asks, "#AreYouBornAgain?"

The Catholic Church denies in that, in general, souls can definitely know if they are saved or otherwise, before they have died in Vivifying Grace, the Grace of God. It is a general principle, but it allows exceptions, where those who selflessly love and abide in God can know by Inspiration their own salvation and that of others, as God deigns to reveal it. 

Jesus Christ taught that no one can enter heaven unless he is Born Again. The Catholic Church has the Sacrament of Confirmation which completes the Born Again experience, but the orthodox Catholic Church preferentially calls it Regeneration. The Catholic Doctrine of Regeneration is absolutely different from the Protestant conception of being "Born Again." 

"With fear and trembling work out your salvation."(Philippians ii, 12). 

"For see your calling, brethren, that there are not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble: But the foolish things of the world hath God chosen, that He may confound the wise; and the weak things of the world hath God chosen, that He may confound the strong. And the base things of the world, and the things that are contemptible, hath God chosen, and things that are not, that He might bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should boast in His sight.  But of Him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and justice, and sanctification, and redemption: That, as it is written: He that boasteth, may boast in the Lord." (1 Corinthians i, 26 fl.). 

"If I must need to boast, I will boast of the things that concern my weakness." (2 Corinthians xi, 30).

And when the wicked turneth himself away from his wickedness, which he hath wrought, and doeth judgment, and justice: he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth and turneth away himself from all his iniquities which he hath wrought, he shall surely live, and not die. And the children of Israel say: The way of the Lord is not right. Are not my ways right, O house of Israel, and are not rather your ways perverse? Therefore will I judge every man according to his ways, O house of Israel, saith the Lord God. Be converted, and do penance for all your iniquities: and iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, by which you have transgressed, and make to yourselves a new heart, and a new spirit: and why will you die, O house of Israel?
