Happy feast of Our Lady of Daureate, of Gietrswald and of Ceylon, and Saints Zoilus, Crescens and King Ladislaus!

IS TODAY, June 27, 2021, the "Feast of our Lady of Perpetual Succour / Perpetual Help"? https://ocaminhodossanttos.blogspot.com/2021/06/succursaibinn.html

✓ Feast of Our Lady of the Golden Church, or Notre Dame de la Daurade, Toulouse, France, also called Notre Dame de la Noir.

✓ June 27, 1877: First Apparition of Our Lady at Gietrzwald in Warmia in Poland, to Justina Szafrynska, age 13, as she walked home from Catechism class prior to receiving her First Holy Communion.

✓ Our Lady of Ceylon, Nossa Senhora de Ceilão

In 1911, a chapel-shrine was built and consecrated to Our Lady of Lourdes. In 1917, a Grotto was added. In the 1930s, the chapel was enlarged to a church because Tewatte, as the area is known, became a popular place of pilgrimage for the Catholics of Ceylon. After the outbreak of World War II, Archbishop Jean-Marie Masson made a vow that if  Ceylon was protected from major conflict, he would build a Votive Basilica under the title Our Lady of Lanka. As it happened, Ceylon was indeed spared the worst. In 1946, a delighted Archbishop Masson obtained approval from Pope Pius XII for the construction of a basilica in honour of Our Lady of Ceylon. Archbishop Masson died the following year. In 1948, Pope Pius XII established Mary Immaculate, to be known as Our Lady of Lanka, as the principal patroness of Ceylon. The laying of the cornerstone took place on February 4, 1950, however, the Shrine was not completed before the Great Modernist Apostasy.
