Over the last 2000 years of Christianity, several images have become known under the title of "Our Lady of the Oak. There is one in Viterbo in Italy, one in Islington, England, destroyed by the Satanists of the Deformation, and elsewhere. There are several of them, in France, under the name, Notre Dame du Chêne, one in the village of Vion in Western France, another in Bar-sur-Seine associated with St Bernard of Clerevaux, one in Nantes, another in Versailles, and so on.
Our Lady of the Oak of Maisieres
On Google Maps, the site of the Apparition of Our Lady of the Oak celebrated today, April 28, is marked as "Pèlerinage de Notre Dame du Chêne" at "5 Route de l'Ermitage, 25290 Scey-Maisieres," in the Community of Scey-Maisières lying to the immediate west of the town of Ornans, downstream on the River Loue, on the north bank, west of the rivulet called "La Brême," and just before the Loue, until then proceeding towards the north-west, turns to the south-west, on the "Route départementale 101" or D101. Downstreams from this site, still on the north bank, is the Parish church of Our Lady of Maisières. La Malcôte lies in the eastern part of the Community, and Maiseres in the western part.«The scene of the Apparition of Our Lady of the Oak was the villages and hamlets of Scey en Varais, Maisières and La Malcôte, now consolidated into the Community of Scey-Maisières, west of the town of Ornans, in Franche Compte, in the Diocese of Besançon. Our Lady was seen walking in a procession with 4 other girls holding lighted candles, by a young girl named Cecilia Mille. Cecilia was born October 16, 1789 AD, the daughter of Peter-Anthony Mille and Blaise Pointurier, who ran a farm in La Malcôte. She had two sisters Simonia and Margaret. Since the French Revolution, Christianity had been "outlawed" by the traitors and apostates. Cecilia's grandfather had hidden a cherished statuette of Our Lady in a niche in an oaktree on the path to the parish Church of Our Lady of Maisières, and, as the rage of the Satanists and traitors grew more fierce, later made a show of hiding a second image of Our Lady in another oaktree, which 2nd image was "discovered" by the Infidels and ritually desecrated. The local Christians would furtively honour the concealed image of Our Lady in the oaktree, which came to be known as La Chêne du Notre Dame, "Our Lady's Oaktree." However, over time, people forgot about the concealed image and the reason they honoured the oaktree. In 1802 AD, the Italian Satanist and Apostate Napoleon Buonaparte, who "ruled" France at the time, for reasons of political expediencies, signed a Concordat with the Pope, restoring some liberty to the Christians. As a result, Cecilia was able to have her First Holy Communion at age 13.
«On April 3, 1803 AD, while on her way to Mass together with a friend, Cecilia saw a beautiful Lady clothed in white accompanied by four young ladies also dressed in white and each carrying a lighted candle. She assumed it was a procession of First Communicants. Then the Lady stopped in front of the oaktree known as "La Chêne du Notre Dame, and the attendants disappeared. The two young girls thought that the lady had decided to wait to join them to church. However, as Cecilia and her friend drew nearer to the oaktree, the lady rose in the air in the midst of a bright light. Cecilia recounted that "when this happened, I was afraid. We ran off to the first house in Maisières, Mr. Verny's house, and I told him everything that had happened." No one in the parish or in her family would believe her story. "It's true, as true as the shining sun," she would say to her father Peter-Anthony, but he would tell her to "just stop this nonsense."
«On the morning of the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, August 15, 1803 AD, between 7 am and 8 am, Cecilia, her father, her sisters, and an itinerant laborer named Louis Seure were on their way to Mass. Passing the oak tree, Cecilia's younger sister Margaret said to Louis Seure, "This is where my sister said she saw the lady on the day of her First Communion." With that, the party looked at the oak tree and saw brilliant rays of light emanating from the tree trunk. As the church bell was ringing for Mass and the little group did not want to be late, they hurried away, having decided to return to the spot after Mass. After mass, the news passed by word of mouth and a procession was organized to the oak tree. After prayers, Peter-Anthony and Louis dug the trunk where they had seen the lights. They brought to light the statuette of Our Lady which some then remembered, had been hidden in that oaktree by Peter-Anthony's father years ago.
«Perhaps Notre Dame du Chêne revealed herself hiding in the oak tree to give people a visible sign of her presence and to invite them to come to her. In her arms she bears Jesus. Together, the two of them hold a bunch of grapes, the sign of the Eucharist.
«The parish priest, Fr Dupuy, who was called to the scene, noted the discovery. The latter told the story of the discovery in a letter addressed to his hierarchy. He concluded his letter with these words: "After Mass, everyone went to the oak. It was carved out in the area indicated by the lights, and a terra cotta Madonna was found. After gathering information, without bias of any kind, since I am not inclined to believe in apparent miracles, I am now a firm believer." The 19 cm high terracotta statue was dated 17th century and probably comes from the pottery of Etrepigney in the Jura. After the discovery, the statue was placed back in the tree and protected by a metal grid. In 1839, the oak was felled for safety reasons and the statue placed on a cross. It was then entrusted to the Pirey de Maisières family. In 1844, it came under the protection of the nuns of the Visitation.
«Today the little statue is enshrined in the chapel that resembles a jewel box set in the woods. The walls of the church are covered with white marble ex voto plaques attesting to the countless healings and other signs and graces granted through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Among the more remarkable ex votos is one commemorating a Mass celebrated in the church during which the faithful heard choirs of angels singing the preface with the priest!
«In May 31, 1844 Jacques-Marie-Adrien-Césaire Cardinal Mathieu (1796–1875), Archbishop of Besançon, formed a commission of inquiry. The commission took its work seriously and over forty persons came to testify under oath. Unfortunately, the direct witnesses had already left this world. Cecilia's mother died on September 16, 1803, her father in 1812. Cecilia married in 1813 and gave birth to 5 children before dying on July 13, 1835. She is buried in the cemetery of Cléron. At the end of his investigation, the cardinal officially declared the authenticity of the apparition of Our Lady to Cecilia Mille. He called for a chapel to be built near "the place where the oaktree was and where the miraculous apparition took place." The first contribution for the chapel’s construction came from the bishop himself.
«The first stone of the chapel was laid on July 12, 1863 and it was inaugurated on August 3, 1869 by Cardinal Mathieu. It was designed by Pierre Bossan, the architect of Notre Dame de Fourviere in Lyon. However, it was the architect Ducat de Besançon who took charge of the project. The building, built using stones from the quarries of Montrond and the Puits Noir, mixes the Romanesque style with the Gothic. The bell towers and the capitals of the columns are by sculptors Duffet and Arnaud de Besançon and the bas relief located above the east door by Franceschi and dates from 1885. It shows the apparition of April 3, 1803 AD.
«Inside the chapel are two funerary monuments. On the right is that of Father Marie-Théodore Grosjean (died in 1880), first chaplain of the place. It is largely thanks to him that the sanctuary exists. On the left is the monument of Mgr Bastide, chaplain general of the French armies in Rome in 1870. He was from Ornans. The choir of the chapel is lit by five windows. The central stained-glass window represents Mary with the crown of twelve stars mentioned by the Apocalypse of St John. At her feet, in a medallion, are represented Cecilia Mille and her companion on the day of their first communion. The other four stained glass windows represent four angels holding lighted candles. The whole recalls the vision of Cecilia Mille.
«The 2nd chaplain of the chapel was Fr Blanchet who officiated until 1919. Msgr Humbrecht, the then Archbishop of Besançon then entrusted the site to the Montfort Fathers. These missionaries gave new impetus to the pilgrimage. It was under their direction that the covered galleries were built, between 1920 and 1927, by volunteers from neighboring villages. In 1936 were erected the house of chaplains and then the house of pilgrims. The large cross erected in the center of the esplanade was brought back from the Holy Land in 1903 AD.

Our Lady of EttalOn April 28, 1330 AD was the foundation of the Abbey of Ettal in the village of Ettal close to Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, by Emperor Louis IV (Ludwig IV) of the Wittelsbach dynasty, where his horse stopped and genuflected 3 times. Louis procured a statue of the Blessed Mary Ever Virgin and installed her at the site as the Lady-Founder ("Frau Stifterin") of the Abbey of Ettal. «The image of Our Lady of Sorrows of Quito, or merely, Our Lady of Quito, in Ecuador, originated from the first Spanish settlement there in 1534 AD. It has certainly been venerated there for a long time, and is popularly referred to as Our Lady of the Earthquake by the people of Quito.
«On April 20, 1906, thirty-six boys attending the Collegio, or boarding school, of the Jesuit Fathers at Quito, Ecuador, with Fr Andrew Roesch, witnessed the first miracle of this famous picture of Our Lady. While in the Refectory they all saw the Virgin Mary slowly open her eyes and shut it. The same miracle occurred in no less than seven times after that, in favour of the boys at the school, but this time in the chapel to which the picture had been taken.
«Ecclesiastical authorities investigated these happenings and concluded that the picture be transferred in a solemn procession from the Collegio to the church of the Jesuit Fathers. Once at the church, the prodigy was repeated several times before large crowds, and many people were converted because of these miracles. Since then, the image is also called the Dolorosa del Colegio, the Sorrowful Lady of the College. Pope Saint Pius X accorded an indulgence for those who should pray before her picture.
«At one time the wonder continued for three days consecutively. At Riobamba, before a faithful reproduction of the original image Our Lady of Sorrows of Quito, the same wonder was seen by more than 20 people, including the president of the city. In 1918, the original image at Quito was solemnly crowned with great pomp.
«Also, in Quito, the Blessed Mary Ever Virgin, appeared several times, under her form of Our Lady of Good Success, to a nun, Mariana de Jesus Torres. This is her message given to Sister Mariana, January 21st, 1610 AD:«"Thus, I make it known to you that from the end of the 19th century and from shortly after the middle of the 20th century, in what is today the Colony, and will then be the Republic, of Ecuador, the passions will erupt and there will be a total corruption of customs, for Satan will reign almost completely by means of the Masonic Sects. They will focus principally on the children in order to sustain this general corruption. Woe to the children of these times! In a latter apparition in February 1610, the Blessed Mary Ever Virgin said:

Many people will die without receiving it — either because of the negligence of their families or misconceived affection for their sick ones.
