Marian Feasts

1. Notre Dame de la Garde, or "Our Lady Protecter of Wayfarers," also called Our Lady, the Guide of the Way, in Greek, Hodegetria

   The Greek word Hodegetria means "Guide of the Way" and distinguishes a large number of icons of Mary of a primitive type, in which the Child is held in the Mother's left arm. Mary, our Guide, is the patron of icon painters. In the USA, "Our Lady Protecter of Wayfarers," is also called "Our Lady of the Highway."



2. Dedication of the Lower Holy Chapel of Paris in honor of Our Lady, April 25, 1248 AD

   The Abbot Matthew Orsini wrote, "The Dedication of the Lower Holy Chapel of Paris in honor of Our Lady by Philip, Archbishop of Bourges, in the year 1248 AD."
   
   There is an upper and a lower chapel of Sainte-Chapelle, and the lower chapel is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God. Her statue stands before the central column at the entry portal. The ceilings are vaulted, but not as high as in the upper chapel. The vaults rest on columns that are linked by anchor braces, and the walls are decorated with medallions representing the 12 apostles. The columns were decorated with alternating patterns of the French fleurs de lys on a blue background and the rest with gold towers of Castile, in homage to Blanche of Castile, Saint Louis' Castilian mother. The vaulted ceiling was strewn with golden stars to represent the heavens, while the floor was largely made up of tombstones which covered the burial places of deceased clerics who had served at the Holy Chapel. Catholic Truth versus the Apostate Heresy of Indifferentism or of "Religious Liberty"

"The declared enemies of God and His Church, heretics and schismatics, must be criticized as much as possible, as long as truth is not denied. It is a work of charity to shout: 'Here is the wolf!' when it enters the flock or anywhere else." St. Francis of Sales, Introduction to the Devout Life, part III, chap. 29.Is there a contradiction between Catholic doctrines as expressed over the last 2000 years, most especially in Pope Pius IX's Quanta Cura, and the Latrocinium of Vatican2's declaration on religious liberty, Dignitatis Humanæ?

Pope Pius VII, Post Tam Diuturnas, 1814 AD (Read full document here):

«But a much more grave, and indeed very bitter, sorrow increased in Our heart — a sorrow by which We confess that We were crushed, overwhelmed and torn in two — from the twenty-second article of the constitution (Democratic constitution proposed by the Parliament of France under the Bourbon Restauration) in which We saw, not only that "liberty of religion and of conscience" (to use the same words found in the article) were permitted by the force of the constitution, but also that assistance and patronage were promised both to this liberty and also to the ministers of these different forms of "religion." There is certainly no need of many words, in addressing you, to make you fully recognize by how lethal a wound the Catholic religion in France is struck by this article. For when the liberty of all "religions" is indiscriminately asserted, by this very fact truth is confounded with error and the holy and immaculate Spouse of Christ, the Church, outside of which there can be no salvation, is set on a par with the sects of heretics and with Judaic perfidy itself. For when favour and patronage is promised even to the sects of heretics and their ministers, not only their persons, but also their very errors, are tolerated and fostered: a system of errors in which is contained that fatal and never sufficiently to be deplored heresy which, as St. Augustine says (de Hæresibus, no.72), "asserts that all heretics proceed correctly and tell the truth: which is so absurd that it seems incredible to me."»

Pope Gregory XVI, Encyclical Mirari Vos, 1832 AD (Read full document here ):

"... gives rise to that absurd and erroneous proposition which claims that liberty of conscience must be maintained for everyone. It spreads ruin in sacred and civil affairs,... When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin.... Thence comes transformation of minds, corruption of youths, contempt of sacred things and holy laws — in other words, a pestilence more deadly to the state than any other. Experience shows, even from earliest times, that cities renowned for wealth, dominion, and glory perished as a result of this single evil, namely immoderate freedom of opinion, license of free speech, and desire for novelty."

Pope Pius IX, Quanta Cura or "Condemnation of Current Errors", December 8, 1864 AD (Read full document here):

«... that liberty of conscience and worship is each man's personal right, which ought to be legally proclaimed and asserted in every rightly constituted society; and that a right resides in the citizens to an absolute liberty, which should be restrained by no authority whether ecclesiastical or civil, whereby they may be able openly and publicly to manifest and declare any of their ideas whatever, either by word of mouth, by the press, or in any other way.»AND«...against the doctrine of Scripture, of the Church, and of the Holy Fathers, they do not hesitate to assert that 'the best condition of civil society is that in which no duty is attributed to the civil power of restraining by enacted penalties, offenders against the Catholic religion, except insofar as public peace may require.'

«From which totally false idea of social government they do not fear to foster that erroneous opinion, most fatal to the Catholic Church and the salvation of souls, called by Our Predecessor, Gregory XVI, insanity, viz., that 'liberty of conscience and worship is the proper right of every man and ought to be legally proclaimed and asserted in every rightly constituted society.'

«Amidst, therefore, such great perversity of depraved opinions, we, well remembering our Apostolic Office, and very greatly solicitous for our most holy Religion, for sound doctrine and the salvation of souls which is intrusted to us by God, and (solicitous also) for the welfare of human society itself, have thought it right again to raise up our Apostolic voice. Therefore, by our Apostolic authority, we reprobate, proscribe, and condemn all the singular and evil opinions and doctrines severally mentioned in this letter, and will and command that they be thoroughly held by all children of the Catholic Church as reprobated, proscribed and condemned.»Canon J.M. Hervé S.T.D., in his Manuale Theologiæ Dogmaticæ (Vol. I, n. 485), says of Quanta Cura, "It is evident from the very words of its conclusion that the encyclical has full and infallible authority."

The renowned Cardinal Billot uses Quanta Cura to refute those who argue that it is difficult to know when a doctrine is taught "ex cathedra." With reference to the passage from it quoted above, he rhetorically asks whether "it could by any chance be said" that its "ex cathedra" status "is doubtful, uncertain or in any way obscure?" (De Ecclesia Christi, thesis XXXI).

Other Errors condemned by Pope Pius IX in Quanta Cura:

1. That "the people's will, manifested by what is called public opinion or in some other way, constitutes a supreme law, free from all divine and human control;


2. That "in the political order accomplished facts, from the very circumstance that they are accomplished, have the force of right;"


3. That "that permission should be refused to citizens and to the Church, “whereby they may openly give alms for the sake of Christian charity;"


4. That the law should be abrogated “whereby on certain fixed days servile works are prohibited because of God’s worship;"


5. That "on civil law alone depend all rights of parents over their children, and especially that of providing for education;"


6. That "the Church's laws do not bind in conscience unless when they are promulgated by the civil power;"


7. That "Religious orders have no legitimate reason for being permitted to exist;"

It is evident from the Errors condemned by Pope Pius IX, in Quanta Cura and the Syllabus of Errors annexed to Quanta Cura, that "Parliamentarianism" also called as "Western Democracy", more correctly Ochlocracy, are Heresies that emanate from Lutheranism, and, through Thomas Cranmer and others, evolved into doctrinal and political, etc., "Anglicanism" and that the falsely so-called "principles" of the traitors and Apostates, and even Judæolatrists, of the falsely so-called "French Revolution" and of "Napoleonism" are nothing but the same Political Anglicanism, even "Cromwellianism", deliberately cultivated by the Cleptarchy of Protestant England to destroy Christendom, and that the "titanic wars" between England and France in the "Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars," were a Pageant, a Masquerade, designed to make permanent and supposedly irreversible, the spread of this Political Satanism!

Pope Pius IX, Syllabus of Errors, an Annexure to Quanta Cura: (Read full document here)

Number 15. "Every man is free to embrace and profess that religion which, guided by the light of reason, he shall consider true." — Condemnation based on his Allocution "Maxima quidem," of June 9, 1862 AD and of his Damnatio called "Multiplices inter," of June 10, 1851 AD.

Number 78. "Hence it has been wisely decided by law, in some Catholic countries, that persons coming to reside therein shall enjoy the public exercise of their own peculiar worship." — Condemnation based on his Allocution "Acerbissimum," of Sept. 27, 1852 AD.

Number 79. "Moreover, it is false that the civil liberty of every form of worship, and the full power, given to all, of overtly and publicly manifesting any opinions whatsoever and thoughts, conduce more easily to corrupt the morals and minds of the people, and to propagate the pest of indifferentism." — Condemnation based on his Allocution "Nunquam fore," of Dec. 15, 1856 AD.

The Apostate Church

Now, let us look at what the Apostate Church, the Church of Damnation, of the Latrocinium of Vatican2, teaches, in Dignitatis Humanæ:«This Vatican Council declares that the human person has a right to religious liberty. Such liberty consists in this: that all men must be immune to coercion whether on the part of individuals, social bodies or any human power so that in religious matters no one is constrained to act against his conscience or prevented from acting in accordance with his conscience in private and in public, alone or with others, within due limits. (Editor: These due limits are defined in paragraph 7 as being those of public peace and morality).

«It further declares that the right to religious liberty is truly founded on the very dignity of the human person as known by the revealed word of God and reason itself... This right of the human person to religious liberty in the juridical ordering of society is to be recognised so as to become a civil right.»Now to all appearances these texts are in radical contradiction on three points.

Pope Pius IX condemns the following ideas:

1. All men have a right to liberty of conscience and of worship;


2. This right of religious liberty should be made a civil right in every well-ordered society;


3. The best state of society is that in which men's civil right to religious liberty is limited only by the demands of public peace.

These three points condemned by Pius IX are all three apparently taught by the Latrocinium of Vatican2 text above.

Moreover Pope Pius IX is exercising the Extraordinary Magisterium and teaches that these propositions are opposed to Holy Scripture, the written divine revelation or revealed word of God, while Vatican II declares its opposing doctrine to be founded on Holy Scripture, the written divine revelation or revealed word of God, and requires all "Catholics" to observe its teaching religiously.

For a once Catholic nation to introduce liberty of (public) worship into its constitution was, as Dom Guéranger wrote to Albert Rene Forbes de Montalembert (October 1852) "political apostasy... the greatest crime a nation can commit." Yet this crime has been committed in the wake of the Latrocinium of Vatican2 and in fulfilment of the Latrocinium of Vatican2 by agreement with those officially charged with putting the Latrocinium of Vatican2 into effect, by Ireland, Spain, Malta, Italy, Colombia, etc.

Neither were all these violent ruptures with the Christian past enough: what had once been must be not only changed but forgotten. Almost contemporaneously with the promulgation of "Dignitatis Humanæ" occurred the publication of a new edition of Denzinger's famous Enchiridion Symbolorum, a very widely used collection of magisterial texts. But whereas many lesser documents continued to be included, the text of a celebrated solemn act of the Extraordinary Magisterium was totally expunged: Pope Pius IX's Quanta Cura. Was this done because it was thought to contain doctrine now "abrogated"? Or to prevent comparison of the new doctrine with the old? Whatever the motive, the editors of Denzinger were clearly not inviting anyone to attempt simultaneous acceptance of the old condemnation of religious liberty and its new apotheosis.

Antipope Wojtyla the Damned

The Eternally Damned Antipope Charles the Apostate Wojtyla, masquerading under pseudonym of John-Paul2, in his Redemptor Hominis, iterates the Latrocinium:«These rights are rightly reckoned to include the right to religious freedom together with the right to freedom of conscience. The Second Vatican Council considered especially necessary the preparation of a fairly long declaration on this subject. This is the document called Dignitatis Humanæ, in which is expressed not only the theological concept of the question but also the concept reached from the point of view of natural law, that is to say from the "purely human" position, on the basis of the premises given by man's own experience, his reason and his sense of human dignity. Certainly the curtailment of the religious freedom of individuals and communities is not only a painful experience but it is above all an attack on man's very dignity, independently of the religion professed or of the concept of the world which these individuals and communities have. The curtailment and violation of religious freedom are in contrast with man's dignity and his objective rights. The Council document mentioned above states clearly enough what that curtailment or violation of religious freedom is.»

Pope Paul IV, Bull Cum ex Apostolatus Officio, 1559

Pope Paul IV's Cum Ex Apostolatus Officio is a restatement of Divine Law, and as Divine Law, it is not able to be "Abrogated" or "Obrogated," etc. and, it, by its very own nature, remains Perpetually in force."Further, if ever it should appear that any bishop (even one acting as an archbishop, patriarch or primate), or a cardinal of the Roman Church, or a legate (as mentioned above), or even the Roman Pontiff (whether prior to his promotion to cardinal, or prior to his election as Roman Pontiff), has beforehand deviated from the Catholic faith or fallen into any heresy, We enact, decree, determine and define:

• "Such promotion or election in and of itself, even with the agreement and unanimous consent of all the cardinals, shall be null, invalid and void in law.


• "It shall not be possible for such a promotion or election to be deemed valid or to be valid, neither through reception of office, consecration, subsequent administration, or possession, nor even through the putative enthronement of a Roman Pontiff himself, together with the veneration and obedience accorded him by all.


• "Such promotion or election, shall not through any lapse of time in the foregoing situation, be considered even partially legitimate in any way.


• "Each and all of the words, as acts, laws, appointments of those so promoted or elected — and indeed, whatsoever flows therefrom — shall be lacking in force, and shall grant no stability and legal power to anyone whatsoever.


• "Those so promoted or elected, by that very fact and without the need to make any further declaration, shall be deprived of any dignity, position, honor, title, authority, office and power."

Finally, to sum up:Question: Are we obliged to follow such alleged Roman Pontiffs that have so brazenly taught the opposite of the immutable dogmatic truths of the Holy Roman Catholic Church? Are Catholics to follow supposedly legitimate Roman Pontiffs that teach heresy to the Universal Church at the Latrocinium of Vatican2 and afterwards?

Answer: The Catholic Church infallibly and unequivocally condemns all who recede from the Catholic Faith in the leastest point, as being heretics and no longer Catholic, as persons that have, whether individually or as a Corporate Body, seceded from Catholicism and Constituted themselves as a Body Apart from the Catholic Church, and excludes any persons or Body Corporate, that holds to such Errors, as foreign to itself, such as the Vatican2 Roman Protestant sect under its Antipopes Angelo "John XXIII-II" Roncalli, John "Paul 6" Montini, Albino "John-Paul1" Luciani, Charles "John-Paul2" Wojtyla, Joseph "Benedict XVI" Ratzinger, George "Francis" Bergoglio, and Infallibly, Dogmatically and Authoritatively Commands and Demands that Souls have Absolutely Nothing to do with them, at Pain of Eternal Damnation in Hell!

The Holy Ecumenical Council of Vienne

«It is an insult to the holy name and a disgrace to the Christian faith that in certain parts of the world subject to Christian princes where Saracens (Muslims) live, sometimes apart, sometimes intermingled with Christians, the Saracen priests commonly called Zabazala, in their temples or mosques, in which the Saracens meet to adore the infidel Mahomet, loudly invoke and extol his name each day at certain hours from a high place, in the hearing of both Christians and Saracens and there make public declarations in his honour. There is a place, moreover, where once was buried a certain Saracen whom other Saracens venerate as a saint. A great number of Saracens flock there quite openly from far and near. This brings disrepute on our faith and gives great scandal to the faithful. These practices cannot be tolerated any further without displeasing the Divine Majesty. We therefore, with the Sacred Council's approval, strictly forbid such practices henceforth in Christian lands. We enjoin on Catholic princes, one and all, who hold sovereignty over the said Saracens and in whose territory these practices occur, and we lay on them a pressing obligation under the Divine Judgment that, as true Catholics and zealous for the Christian faith, they give consideration to the disgrace heaped on both them and other Christians. They are to remove this offence altogether from their territories and take care that their subjects remove it, so that they may thereby attain the reward of eternal happiness. They are to forbid expressly the public invocation of the sacrilegious name of Mahomet. They shall also forbid anyone in their dominions to attempt in future the said pilgrimage or in any way give countenance to it. Those who presume to act otherwise are to be so chastised by the princes for their irreverence, that others may be deterred from such boldness.»

1. + The 3rd Great Treason of Portugal, April 25, 1970, Traitors and Apostates of Portugal, servants of the Perfidious Jews (the Zogarchy), the UK, the USA, and the Soviets, Constitute at the Command of their Owners, the illegal and fraudulent Carnation Revolution, the Cravocracy (Government of the Craven), usurp the Government of Portugal, and dismember multi-continental, plurinational Portugal, we commemorate the very many martyrs murdered by these traitors all over multi-continental, plurinational Portugal.


2. + The Day of the Major Rogation or the Great Litanies in the Basilica of St Peter on the Vatican Hill;

   On the Great Litanies, by St Alban Butler

   The Great Litanies are sung on this day to beg that God would be pleased to avert from us the scourges which our sins deserve. The origin of this custom is usually ascribed to St Gregory the Great, who, by a public supplication, or litany with a procession of the whole city of Rome, divided into seven bands, or companies, obtained of God the extinction of a dreadful pestilence. This St Gregory of Tours learned from a deacon, who had assisted at this ceremony at Rome. The station was at St Mary Major's, and this procession and litany were made in the year 590 AD. St Gregory the Great speaks of a like procession and litany which he made thirteen years after, on August 29, 603 AD, in which the station was at St Sabina's. Whence it is inferred that St Gregory performed this ceremony every year, though not on the 25th of April, on which day we find it settled, in the close of the seventh century, long before the same was appointed for the feast of St Mark. The great litany was received in France, and commanded in the council of Aix-la-Chapelle in 836 AD, and in the Capitulars of King Charles the Bald. St Gregory the Great observed the Great Litanies with a strict fast. On account of the Paschal time, on April 25, it is kept in several dioceses only with abstinence; in some with a fast of the Stations, or till the hour of None.
   
   Nothing is more tender and more moving than the instructions which several councils, fathers, and holy pastors, have given on the manner of performing public supplications and processions. The 1st Council of Orleans orders masters to excuse their servants from work and attendance, that all the faithful may be assembled together to unite their prayers and sighs. A Council of Mentz commanded that all should assist barefoot, and covered with sackcloth: which was for some time observed in that church. St Charles Borromæo endeavoured, by pathetic instructions and pastoral letters, to revive the ancient piety of the faithful, on the Great Litanies and the Rogation Days. According to the regulations which he made, the supplications and processions began before break of day, and continued till three or four o’clock in the afternoon. On them he fasted himself on bread and water, and preached several times, exhorting the people to sincere penance. A neglect to assist at the public supplications of the church, is a grievous disorder, and perhaps one of the principal causes of the little piety and sanctity which are left, and of the scandals which reign amongst Christians. They cannot seek the kingdom of God as they ought, who deprive themselves of so powerful a means of drawing down his graces upon their souls. We must join this profession with hearts penetrated with humility, and spend some time in prayer, pious reading, and the exercises of compunction. What we are chiefly to ask of God on these days is the remission of our sins, which are the only true evil, and the cause of all the chastisements which we suffer, or have reason to fear. We must secondly beg that God avert from us all scourges and calamities which our crimes deserve, and that He bestow His blessing on the fruits of the earth.

3. Great Spiritual Feast of St Mark the Evangelist

   + St Mark the Evangelist, author of the Gospel According to St Mark, disciple and interpreter of St Peter, who sent him to found the Churches of Aquileia, Cyrenaica, the Cyrenaican Pentapolis, the Thebais, and Alexandria, where lastly he was seized by a mob of pagans, bound, dragged over stones and endured great afflictions, on Sunday, the 24th of April, in the year of Christ 68 (AD), imprisoned, where, being comforted by the visit of an angel, and even by an apparition of our Lord himself, the next day the infidels dragged him, as before, till he happily expired on April 25, 68 AD in the reign of Nero, at a place called Bucoles in Alexandria, he was called to the Heavenly kingdom, hundreds of years later, when Alexandria came to be cursed to be ruled by the impious Muslim Infidels, the Venetians, descendants of the ancient Aquileia, took away his remains and buried it in a secret place in their city so that it may not be found and taken away;


4. + The Holy Martyrs of Durostorum in Moesia Inferior Saints Passicratius and Valentianus, 22 and 30 year old men, Roman soldiers under the Eparch Aulozanus, martyred in April or May 25 under Diocletian for denouncing the worship of the demons, Pasicratius' mother encouraged her son to stay constant with Christ under torture, Pasicratius brought about the Reversion of Valentianus who first apostatized under torture but at the example of Passicratius returned to Christ, Durostorum was a city on the right of the lower Danube, in the former Roman province of Moesia Inferior, following Passicratius and Valentianus, also suffered at Durostorum on later dates, other Roman soldiers, Saints Hesychius, Julian the Veteran, Marcianus, Marcus, Modanus, Nicandrus, Polycratius or Polycarpus, and others;

8. + St Anianus or Annianus, first bishop of Alexandria after St Mark the Evangelist, its founder, the Acts of St Mark tell us, that as St Mark was first entering Racotis, a suburb of Alexandria, the strap of his sandal broke, he found a cobbler, Anianus, to repair it, while he was repairing the sandal, the awl slipped in Anianus' hand, piercing it, and he cried out, "Heis ho Theos" ("God is one") in response to the pain, Mark took the opportunity to preach the Gospel of Christianity to him, at the same time miraculously healing Anianus of his wound, Mark was invited to Anianus' house, where he taught Anianus' family and neighbours the Gospel and baptized a great number, such was Anianus' fervour and progress in virtue and learning, that St Mark constituted him bishop of Alexandria, during his absence; and Anianus governed that great church four years with him, and eighteen years and seven months after his death, he died on November 26, 86 AD, but is named in the Roman Martyrology on the same day with St Mark, Eusebius of Caesarea says of Anianus, that "He was a man well-pleasing to God, and admirable in all things;"


9. + St Boniface of Valperga, bishop of Aosta, in Italy, died April 25, 1243 AD;


10. + St Cebius or Kebius, a Cornishman, he was ordained bishop by St Hilary of Poitiers, and revitalized the Faith in his native country of Cornwall;


11. + St Clarence or Clarentius, bishop of Vienne in France, died April 25, 620 AD;


12. + St Erminius, Prophet, disciple and successor of St Ursmar as abbot-bishop of Lobbes, died April 25, 737 AD in Lobbes, now in the Belgian Hainault;


13. + St Francisca of Vitalta, first abbess of Montelana, in Italy, died April 25, 1218 AD;


14. + St Heribald, bishop of Auxerre, France, died April 25, 857 AD;


15. + St Herman, Margrave of Baden and Verona, together with his wife St Judith of Backnang, they founded the Augustinian monastery of Backnang, in 1073 AD, he separated from his wife St Judith, took monastic vows, and became a lay brother in Cluny Abbey, where he died April 25, 1074 AD, he is the father of St Herman II, Margrave of Baden and Verona;


16. + St MacCaille, supposed to be a nephew of St Partrick by his sister Darerca, he was made bishop of Cruachad, or Cruachan Bri-Ele, in the territory of Offaly, or Hy Failge, now called Croghan, he bestowed the veil upon St Brigit of Ireland, he died April 25, in the years between 456 and 489 AD, although his name is similar to St Macull's, they are separate persons with the same feast day;


17. + St Macedonius II, bishop of Constantinople, he was exiled by the Apostate Arians under the Emperor Anastasius for defending the decisions of the Council of Chalcedon, died in exile April 25, 516 or 517 AD at Gangra;


18. + St Macull, or Maughold, a robber-chieftain in Ireland, converted by St Patrick, he retired as a hermit to the island of Eubonia, also called by the ancient Gallic British, who are not the same as the Germanic English people, as North Mona to distinguish it from the Southern Mona now the Island of Anglesey in Wales, this Eubonia is now called the Isle of Man, Macull was elected the 4th bishop of the Isle of Man after Saints Germanus, Conindrius and Romulus, although his name is similar to St MacCaille's, they are separate persons with the same feast day;


19. + St. Mella of Doire-Melle, she was born at Connaught in Ireland, after the death of her husband, Mella embraced religious life and later was made abbess of Doire-Melle in Leitrim, Ireland, she is the mother of Saints Cannech and Tigernach, she died April 25, 780 AD;


20. + St. Phæbadius, bishop of Agen in France, he collaborated with Saints Hilary of Poitiers, Servatius of Tongres and with his metropolitan St Delphinus, bishop of Bourdeaux, working hard to stem the spread of that Great Disease, the Apostate heresy of Arianism, so that Aquitania largely rejected this Disease, he died at a very old age, on an April 25, after the year 392 AD when St Jerome wrote his De viris illustribus, stating, «Agenni Galliarum episcopus, edidit contra Arianos librum. Dicuntur et eius alia esse opuscula quae necdum legi [or, inveni]. Vivit usque hodie, decrepit senectute»;


21. + St Robert, abbot of a monastery at Syracuse in Sicily, died April 25, 1000 AD;


22. + St Rusticus, of an ancient Roman family of senators, great-grandson of St Eucherius, brother of St Viventiolus, husband of Hiberia, the daughter of Ruricius bishop of Limoges, and his wife Hiberia, father of Saints Sacerdus, Leontius, and grandfather of Saints Nicetius and Gundulf or Gondulf, Rusticus was successor of St Lupicinus as bishop of Lyons, Eucherius, Sacerdus, Leontius and Nicetius were all bishops of Lyons, Gundulf was bishop of Metz, Rusticus died April 25, 501 AD;


23. + St Stephen, bishop of Antioch, he was persecuted by the Anti-Chalcedonian heretics, and was Martyred by being drowned in the River Orontes, in the time of the Emperor Zeno;

1. + Pope Benedict XII, he formally excommunicated the, till then uncondemned, heresy, of his immediate predecessor, John XXII, that souls dying in the Grace of God, do not immediately attain the "fulness of the beatific vision" before the Last Judgment, an error that John XXII recanted on his deathbed, the cardinals in conclave, most of whom opposed a return to Rome, demanded of John Raymond Cardinal of Comminges whose election seemed assured, the promise to not return to Rome, his refusal precipitated an unexpected canvass for candidates, on the first ballot, December 20, 1334 AD, many electors, intending to sound the mind of the conclave, voted for the unlikely Cardinal Fournier, who, though he was one of the few men of real merit in the college, was but lightly regarded because of his obscure origin and lack of wealth and following, Cardinal Fournier amazed the conclave by receiving the necessary two-thirds vote and, accepting, was on January 8, 1335 AD, enthroned as Pope Benedict XII, he died April 25, 1342;
